Dharma Teachings: Inside and Outside.
Geoff visited our group in Melbourne to hold a two-day residential, which existed somewhere in the space between Zazenkai and Sesshin.
Our Dojo is located in a beautiful area, with a wide outlook across natural scenery. Meanwhile, Geoff’s Dharma talks covered topics on Transformation and Playfulness, and these themes extended to the retreat.
Inside, there was transformation with the Sangha- with people, and with innovative ways of cooking, which brought new energy. Outside, there was playfulness in the natural setting. Students reported seeing (and hearing): echidnas, kangaroos, ant colonies, cockatoos, frogs, rosellas, kookaburras, foxes, a snake, and many ducklings.
The weekend was also the scene of a little social experiment, involving the careful placement of dark chocolate Tim Tams at the bottom of the biscuit barrel, then stacking layers of boring milk arrowroot biscuits above. Would the Tim Tams retain intact… or would craving become too overpowering?
Scenes from the Weekend… and Biscuit Barrel Psychology
A special thank you to everyone who attended, sitting well and contributing to the Zazenkai- and of course, to Geoff and Diana for visiting us again
